Compared to flour, gritz made from green peas gives greater texture to finished products without excessively impacting the flavour. As with several other pulses (such as lentils, red beans and chickpeas), pea gritz are often used to enrich formulations that otherwise would be cereal-only and increase their biological, nutritional and dietary properties.

Of course, this is an appropriately-stabilized product for its shelf life and palatability, as well as calibrated and sifted to be available as an inclusion or a topping.
